Recipes for Your Blog: A Recipe Each Day Is Just What Your Blog Ordered

by Arika Lewis

Are you scratching your head, trying to figure out how to get more content on your blog without writing all day long? Sometimes it can be hard to come up with interesting topics that your readers are interested in reading. And, how do you attract the search engines to your blog anyway? The answer is "Recipes!" By adding a recipe-of-the-day to your blog, you'll ensure that you've always got fresh, yummy content for your visitors to "eat up". But, how do you find recipes that you can use? Before I share some of my favorite ways, let's get the legal bit out of the way.

To keep from breaking the copyright laws and getting yourself in a bit of trouble, you can not just copy and paste recipes or type them in. They are not public domain. Both collections of recipes and recipe instructions may be copyrighted. I recommend that you search google for "recipe copyright" to read the full scoop. But suffice it to say, you can't just use other people's recipes legally. You have to use other methods.

Now, let's talk about 4 ways to find recipes that can be used on your mom blog.

Start a Recipe BlogYour Recipes

Do you have recipes that you cook at home? These might be recipes that have been passed down to you, that you've created on your own, or that you've adapted to your family's tastes.

If so, they are yours to publish as you wish. Enter them into your blog.

Friends & Family

Does your family have a recipe that has been passed down from generation to generation? How about something your favorite Aunt brings to Christmas dinner every year that everyone loves?

Look around the Thanksgiving dinner table and ask everyone to share their recipes. Then, start asking your friends, neighbors and co-workers.

Hire a Writer

The second method that I'd like to share is to hire a ghostwriter to write articles for you. Now, many people don't think about using a ghostwriter in this way, but it can certainly save you much time -- that you could spend in other ways.

Private Label Rights Recipes

The fourth (and my personal favorite) way to get recipes for your blog is to purchase PLR recipes. The great thing about PLR recipes is:

You don't have to stress your brain trying to come up with all the recipes yourself.

You don't have to pay the big bucks for a writer.

You can change the recipes as much or as little as you'd like.

You can split them up and add them to multiple blogs. You can pretty much do whatever you'd like with them to create a product, freebie or something else.

You can get tons of recipes for cheap. Some PLR memberships sell them for less than $1 per recipe.

Of course, every PLR site has its own rules so be sure to read them before you buy.

One last tip: For best results, edit your PLR recipes to personalize them. An easy way to do this is:

Change the directions slightly.

Give the title a bit of pizazz.

Add a little something to it - i.e. suggestion of foods or drinks that would go well with the recipe.

Now that you know how easy it is to add recipes to your blog, you can get started right away. Your blog will go from bare to bountiful.
