Close to my Heart
was founded in 1996 by Jeanette Lynton as a scrapbooking sales
and information business. In 2000 she combined Close to my Heart
with her other direct sales business D.O.T.S. (dozens of
terrific stamps) to form one company specializing in both
scrapbooking and stamps. In just three short years the company
had expanded into Canada from the United States to become an
international direct sales company.
The starter kit for their new consultants is $99 and has two
different bonus packs that you may add on. The kit contains
business training and marketing supplies, hostess supplies, and
a good variety of products to showcase at your home shows. The
first bonus kit adds on to your scrapbooking arsenal for a cost
of $60 and gives you a lot more products to show off. The second
bonus is puts more emphasis on the card making side of the craft
for a cost of $50 and also really boosts your display line.
Your income is commission based with rates ranging from 22% to
34% depending on volume of sales. You do need to keep your sales
above $300 per quarter in order to keep your business up, the
first month is waived to help you get started. They have a huge
product line for your customers to choose from, anyone with an
interest in scrapbooking and card making will find something
they can’t do without.
