Joining Direct Sales for The Discount

Your best friend just joined a direct sales company, and you
just hosted a show for her. Although you adore the product, you
are just too busy to jump in to making a career in direct sales.
You are aware of the fantastic discount your friend receives,
but you wouldn't dream of asking her to sell her product to you
at cost, now would you? You want to see her succeed at this
business. You really do want to load up on tons of product
because you love it as much as is possible. Is there some way to
benefit from both sides of the coin? Can you simply join the
company for your own benefit of a discount? Yes in fact you can.

Some direct sales companies offer what they call a "personal
use" program in order to gain new recruits. I believe they hope
you will someday sign up as an actual sales consultant, and
start selling the products and recruiting new people. Many
companies provide some sort of program for their frequent
customers buying on a regular basis, giving them a discount on
products.
Although the discount might be different from the one you would
receive if you joined the business with the goal of selling
products and recruiting others to do the same, but none the less
any discount is better than none at all, right? Here are some of
the benefits that could be yours if you sign up as a "personal
use" consultant.
* Discounts on the product(s) you purchase most. I think
most of us know this one.
* Playing part in others' success. The person who
recruits you will likely receive some credit for having you as a
recruit; therefore you are helping her to grow her business.
* Ordering products when you need them. You no longer
have to host a show or wait until your consultant places her
next order.
* Trying something new. Direct sales companies often
allow you to purchase a product and try it first. Normally if
you don't like it they offer no-hassle returns. Maybe they offer
sample sizes to test before committing to the purchase.
* Experience gathered. Let's say you decide to become a
personal use consultant first. You use the product, and then
brag about it to everyone you know. You decide to become a
regular consultant. Many companies will add the time you have
spent being a personal use consultant toward your total time in
the company. This can result in possible rewards for years of
service.
* Knowledge of the product. Since you've been using the
product for such a long time, having tried almost everything
available it's quite possible you know more about what's
available than someone new to the business. Use that knowledge
to guide someone who may be struggling, or start building up
your own business by becoming a regular sales associate.
* Gaining firsthand knowledge of new products. As a
consultant you get the bonus of being notifies when new products
hit the market, or possibly even beforehand. This will allow you
to plan for a purchase in your budget.
It's easy to see the perks that come with being a personal use
consultant. Just make sure you read the fine print before
signing on the dotted line. There may be prerequisites expected
of you such as purchases of a certain dollar amount each month
to remain qualified for discounts and benefits. Others require
you pay a slightly higher fee for signing up as a personal use
consultant.
The option of being a personal consultant may save you money on
your favorite products and help a friend. Read the fine print
and give it some thought before making the decision. This might
be exactly what you were looking for.
