In order to create a solid foundation which enables you to
create a successful direct sales business, here are 3 things
which should be done immediately.
1. Get to you first team meeting as soon as possible.
This is one step you simply can't procrastinate on. Putting this
crucial step off until after your first show is not a wise
choice. By thinking you will start attending meetings at a later
date is also a mistake you don't want to make. If there is a
meeting tomorrow, and you were recruited today, by all means go
to that meeting.
When you attend the meeting, you will not only learn quite a bit
of information which can be helpful to you, but you will also
find other people who are goal oriented and making direct sales
dreams come true. This is also a fantastic opportunity to
receive materials to help you build your business and
motivation.
An important tip: Make it a habit to not schedule
shows on meeting nights. New recruits often make this mistake as
they are so eager to get those bookings secured, resulting in
them forgetting they are in control when it comes to their
schedule. Team meetings are important, so make it a point from
day one to avoid taking bookings on the same day as weekly or
monthly team meetings.
2. Setting your goals. Attending team meetings will give
you new information on what incentives are being offered by the
company to recruits and for sales. Set your goals to reflect
this new information. .
If you want or need to bring in a certain dollar income instead
of prize-oriented goals, it's important to set your goals
accordingly. Plan how much you need to sell to allow you to
reach that particular income level, and book shows accordingly.
Sometimes you will need to look outside the box to accomplish
these goals. If you used step on above to build your business,
you shouldn't have any problem. You always need to be meeting
new people. People who love the product and get excited when you
start to talk about it, the ones who could use an extra income
or wish to start a new career are the ones you want to reach out
to. If they are goal oriented with lots of ambition, and know
how to set their own goals, they are the ones to approach. Look
for people who have a plan to reach those goals.
3. Keep the drive. If you happened to get a few
rejections, you shouldn't give up or allow them to get in the
way of your business. With perseverance and determination your
new business will keep growing. Push through the rough patches,
and your good points will provide much more satisfaction.
By properly setting your goals - high enough to get what you
really want, but low enough to be attainable, everything should
work in your favor with drive and determination. Going into this
endeavor knowing there are likely to be setbacks along the way
will help you readjust your goals during slower times. You will
get through this, as long as you don't give up.
A direct sales business can be an exciting and rewarding
experience. The number of people you meet along the way; be it
clients or team mates, are icing on the cake as you build up
your business. Don't forget that without these people your
business would not grow or prosper, so work hard and choose
wisely, no matter what position they will fulfill in your
business.
When hit with slow times, don't let them get you down. Stand
strong, persevere and keep on going. Keep your eye on your goals
at all times. Visual motivators such as posters of the car you
are working for, or the dollar amount you desire each week will
help you make a plan you can work on. Before long that
successful and thriving direct sales business will yours.
