How to Start a Freelance Writing Business
These days, when many are losing their jobs, we all want to
have a bit of extra cash to buy extra necessities. Using one's
talents and imagination to start a business on the net is not
as difficult as one might think.
Do you write? Do you have any experience in writing grant
proposals, business plans, press releases or anything else in
that line? Have you ever written poetry or verse that could be
used on greeting cards? If so, you might be able to start an
on-line writing business.
People are always looking for someone to write articles or press releases.
If you can put your experience and talents to work in this line it could
end up being a fairly lucrative market.
First, you must get your act together and make a list of writing services
you could supply.
Let's say, for instance, that you have done volunteer work as a publicity
person for a club or society. If you have done this, or something similar,
lake a list of all the services in this line that you could offer.
Your list might look something like this:
− Offering press releases and other publicity articles
− Offering small articles to advertise certain products
− Offering a reading service for prospective novelists
− If you are a writer, and have had experience in editing, you would be
able to offer many more writing-related services. For example:
− Editing services for writers
− Reading service for fiction and non-fiction books and articles
− Personalized greeting card verses
− Writing press releases and other publicity materials
− Research services for historical articles
− Specific article writing for the client
− eBooks written to order
The sky is the limit, and your imagination is the key. To get started you
will need a website where your services can be advertised; a name ('Right
Writers" e.g.), a logo, a way to receive payment on line (Pay Pal) and any
other ways you can think of to advertise your site and your services. A
small start-up fee is all you will need.
