Growing Direct Sales: Build Your Business with These Tips

Having just started your brand new direct sales career, you
are full of energy and excitement. You want to hit the
neighborhood streets with this awesome new product, and you are
sure that everyone is going to want in on it. This is a
fantastic attitude, and keeping that excitement can get you far
in this business.
You already have every friend and family member around
holding shows for you, and this is resulting in commission
checks that are quite impressive. Remember though, this level of
drive and momentum can possibly dwindle fast.

If you want your direct sales business to stand the test of
time, you'll need to consider these important steps you can
start taking now to ensure success later.
Secure many shows or parties as soon as possible.
Don't wait until you have your kit in hand to start making those
all- important calls booking your first few shows. This is how
you will find those strong people we will cover in the next
step. Start calling people from the get go.
Don't panic if your kit hasn't arrived in time for your first
booking. In most cases your recruiter will either let you borrow
hers, or at least provide you with a few popular pieces from her
collection. It is also a possibility that she comes to assist
with your first couple of shows, not only to give you some
confidence, but to be there to answer any questions that come up
to which you haven't yet received the answers.
If you're on a roll, don't simply stop making calls after you
secure you first 6 demonstrations. Keep on calling people if you
are on a roll. Although you may get many negative responses at
first, your list of "yes's" will soon become natural, so there
is no need to give up.
Build a solid foundation.
A good solid foundation for a successful direct sales business
is one built with other enthusiastic people on your team. Keep
an eye open for those quality people you notice having the same
appreciation and passion for the product that you do. These same
people should also have the qualities of being driven, organized
and goal oriented.
Your team will be going strong when you have 3 to 5 quality
recruits under you. This is how your business is built to
success. You don't want to be recruiting people just for the
sake of having met that goal. If the people under you don't
adhere by the same characteristics as you do, there are likely
to be disappointments when they quit or dawdle with their own
businesses. This will be more of a hindrance to your business
than any help. Once your team is strong and productive, then you
can start adding people who are looking to join for discounts or
to pass the time. Think of it this way, if you don't recruit a
handful of strong people under you as soon as possible, those
strong ones will be snatched by somebody else.
Remember, building your direct sales business won't happen
overnight. It takes a great deal of determination, drive as well
as motivation to build and maintain a successful direct sales
business.
