How to Start a Hair Salon Business
If
you enjoy giving friends new hair styles you may have even
wondered how to open a hair salon business.
Before you can seriously consider opening a hair salon business you'll want to learn all you can about hair salons and hair styles. This may mean going back to school – cosmetology or beauty school – to be sure you're knowledgeable about your chosen field. Business management or accounting classes would also be a good idea.

Develop a business plan which
explains your proposed business, how you intend to make money,
and how you plan to market your business. Once you have a solid
business plan you can seek financing from an individual or a
lending institution. In either case, the lender will want to see
you've thought the business through and have a plan to pay them
back.
Take time to do your research so you know what to expect when starting
out. Find out what business licenses and fees are required as well as
finding a discount supplier to purchase your equipment from.
Determine a marketing plan. How will your hair salon differ from those in
the area? What services can you offer which will bring in clients from
competitors? Find a niche no one else is filling and you're bound to be a
success.
