Start A Personal Services Business

Starting a retail business involves the sale of products to the general public. This is in contrast to wholesale, which involves product sold in large volumes, at lower prices to other businesses. Retail is alive and well, but definitely comes with it's challenges in the form of seasonal business, etc.

To sell retail, you might consider the following models:

- Becoming an independent retailer: This means you set up your very own shop (brick and mortar and/or online) and purchase wholesale products that you have the right to sell.

- Buying a franchise: Purchasing the right to use an existing retailer's name, product, business plan, etc.

- Joining a network marketing plan: This is a selling plan that allows you to sell existing products on a commission/wholesale basis with an established company. Learn more about network marketing.
