Couples have been planning their weddings for hundreds and hundreds of years, but now there is recent growth in the number of couples who hire wedding planners to attend to the details of their special days.

Fab Job reports that according to the Association of Bridal Consultants, the percentage of couples using wedding planners has doubled in 3 years

A wedding planner can be responsible for:

• Creating a timeline schedule for everything that needs to be done prior to and on the day of the wedding.
• Setting up and working according to a budget
• Planning the wedding ceremony
• Planning the reception
• Finding and working with vendors
• Negotiating contracts

Useful skills:

• Planning and organization
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to work under pressure and deal with emotional clients

There is no special education or certification required to become a wedding planner.
